Philly's Final Four - UConn Rocks the Cradle of Women's Basketball
Written by the staff of the Philadelphia Inquirer. Covers the 1999-2000 season of women's college basketball that culminated with UConn's 71-52 victory over Tennessee for the national title. Also traces the roots of modern women's basketball to the early victories of the Immaculata College Mighty Macs from suburban Philadelphia who won the national title three years in a row from 1972 through 1974.

UConn Men's Basketball: An Illustrated History (Championship Edition)
As seen on CPTV, this two-hour video covers UConn's nearly 100 years of basketball history. This video was shown on CPTV in 3 versions. The first edit was a bit rushed, so it was re-edited before releasing it on video tape. The Championship Edition is that second version with footage from the 1999 championship season added to it.
Available at IGA Supermarkets ($13.99, I think).

Huskymania!
Connecticut's 1989-90 Championship Season. Produced by KTM Productions,
Providence, RI in association with the Connecticut Bank & Trust Co. and the UConn Division of Athletics.
Great video with highlights from the 1989-90 season, plus player and coaches interviews. For the call of The Shot they combined the video from CBS with the audio from WHUS.
Probably impossible to find this anywhere except at a yard sale but definitely worth looking for. I'm still looking for a copy for myself. If you run across one please let me know!

2002 Husky Basketball Calendar
This officially licensed calendar was produced for 2000 and 2001. Unfortunately, the publisher is not producing a 2002 calendar. They said it had to do with not being able to find a distributor for it. Feel free to send them an email to let them know that you really wanted one for 2002 and encourage them to produce a 2003 calendar next year.

Ray of Hope: More Than Basketball and Money - This is a book that was supposed to be released in Sept. 1998 or May, 1999 (Cronopio Publishing - ISBN: 096580481X) but it apparently never was published. I'm not sure if Ray ever actually wrote it, either. It does show up when you do a search on it's ISBN number on most book sites including ISBN.nu and AddAll.com. However, actually buying a copy appears to be impossible. If you know the real story behind this book please let me know. |
