Rated the No. 30 player on Future Stars' Top 100 list in 1995-96. Led the USA to the gold medal in the Albert Schweitzer Youth Tournament in Germany, where he averaged 15.0 ppg. and scored 16 points in the USA's gold medal win against France, earning him tournament Most Valuable Player honors.
1999 NCAA Tournament All-West Region Team. Most Outstanding Player at the 1999 Big East Conference Tournament. As a junior in 1998-99, was the No. 3 scorer (12.2 ppg.), leading rebounder (7.3 rpg.), and leader in field goal accuracy (.588), for 1999 national champion UConn. As a sophomore in 1997-98, was UConn's No. 2 rebounder (6.6 rpg.) and No. 3 scorer (10.3 ppg.) while shooting a team high 56.9 percent from the field. As a freshman in 1996-97, led the Huskies in rebounding (6.4 rpg.), and led UConn starters in field goal percentage (.492).
Earned a gold medal on the 1999 USA Basketball Men's World University Games Team.
Following UConn's elimination from the 2000 NCAA Tournament, he suffered a dislocated left elbow in the NABC Roundball Classic All-Star game against the Harlem Globetrotters. Was able to recover quickly enough to play in the Phoenix Classic pre-draft tournament for college seniors.
Selected in the fourth round (40th overall) of the 2000 USBL draft by New Jersey, but didn't sign with them. Signed with the Pennsylvania Valleydawgs on June 8th, 2000 but then apparently didn't report to the team.
He was the #2 pick (9th overall) of the Sioux Falls Skyforce in the 2000 CBA Draft. Played briefly in Milan, Italy in Sept. 2000 (for a team that is co-owned by Kobe Bryant) but left when management issues led the team to put all contracts on hold. Currently participating in the NJ Nets training camp as a non-roster player. Head coach Byron Scott was quoted as saying Kevin has a "better than 50-50 chance" of making the team. Waived by the Nets on Oct. 31, 2000 prior to the start of the season (the last player cut from the preseason roster).
Signed with the LA Stars of the new ABA 2000 league on Nov. 15, 2000. Suffered a high ankle sprain in their second game and is still day-to-day.
